Default Date format for task end/milestone in diagram

Hi there, I'm new to this forum so please excuse any mistakes I may make with my requests as I'm using the German version of MS Project 2013 and am not familiar with the English MS Project terminology.

Now to my question: I'm trying to display dates in the GANTT diagram in the format DD.MM.YY. For some reason I only get DD.MM and I just can't find where to adjust the date format. Changing it in "File -> Options ... Project view" doesn't change the date format in the GANTT diagram. Can anyone here help me?

Natively, Project wont do this, but there is a work around.
1) set date to dd/mm/yy in preferences (as you have done)
2) Under the "Project) tab,Create a custom field and call it start date, finish date, or whatever dates you are trying to show.
3) in the custom field, click on "formula", then field -> date -> Start/finish or whichever.
4) Format bars (under "Format" tab) and choose the field you created.

this will then show date as dd/mm/yy.
hope that helps

By Gantt diagram, do you mean the Gantt with the time scale shown in multiple tiers. If yes, then you should be able to right click on the Timescale header, go to the appropriate Tier and select the Label you want. I am able to see dd/mm/yy. However, I do not see dd.mm.yy as an option. May be it comes in German version?

Shame on me, it's too simple a solution: layout -> bar -> date format ... done.
