MS project 2013 problem with duration
Hey guys.
Have left everything basically on default and I am having duration value problems. So I have my task, and I have put the start date at 29/10/17, and the end date is 23/11/17. But for some reason the duration is showing up with "21days?" - aware that ? means estimated but that is far off. What it should be is 20 days. Another example, in few places where the duration is 1 day - the start & fish date are not the same (add one day) in the total duration of the project show number of days ...something like this 26.33 insead of 26 Any help is great though. Thanks! |

If there is a question mark in the duration box for project summary, it means that a task somewhere has not been given a duration. have a look through, you should find it and be able to update it so that the estimated duration for the project becomes confirmed.
Overall duration is dictated not just by the time between start and finish, but by calendars used. It will give the duration in terms of the protect calendar, so if you have another calendar for specific tasks this can make a difference. Rounded days (as in your 26.33) are often a result of using edays- if you are using these in the programme, or have 24 hour working calendars (same thing effectively) this may be the cause. |
