Update automatically Finished Task
Hello everybody,
I'm new in Project and I'm having some problem in an apparently obvious issue. I searched in previous thread but I didn't find it. Assume I've a very simple project, made by FS link tasks. All of them are Fixed Work (which, as far as I understood, means the remaining duration will be calculated as consequence of the resources applied) and ASAP. Since I have a source from which I receive the Actual Work I will automatically update it. When I update the project, rescheduling uncompleted tasks on the very day I update the Actual Work, if an activity is going slower than expected it correctly splits and reschedules, but if it goes faster it doesn't. Let's make a case example: yesterday a task was 100% (Actual Work=Work) while in the previous scheduling should finish tomorrow, why didn't it update automatically the finish of the task so that it results finished, in fact? Obviously the same is for activity that are, for example, at 90% when the should be at 10%... I mean, I don't want to work on changing the Finish date, because if so it is like I'm rescheduling myself... Thanks a lot, R. Let me know it this is possible, otherwise I have to make a passage on excel to make automatically this rescheduling on the date which seems to me pretty absurd. |
