Exclamation MS Project able to import actual start and or actual finish date from Excel?

MS Project does not appear to be able to import actual start and or actual finish dates. Each time I try to update these fields in Excel and import them into MS Project it moves the tasks around or updates the start fields (not the actuals). Any ideas?

Using MS Project 2007
