Question Newbie in Office Project

I have a question, and I couldn't search for an answer because I don't know what to search for exactly, but I hope I can give a clear discription of what I need

I have an activity, which is dependable on a previous activity, but its not a Finish to Start... it is a Finish(25%) to Start... can this be done in MS Project?

Another question is, can 1 activity start then end, and then start again after a couple of days?

Thank you

Hi, both is managable...
If you have two tasks, second task should be started when first task is completed of 75%, than set the gap between these two activities to -25%

Sure you can divide some task. I am not sure of English name of that button, but its button on standard toolbar, the name should be something like Divide task. Other option how to do that is to go to the Resource usage view and enter zero days or zero hours in place where you want to divide it...

Thank you

One more question

I type 28 days for a specific task, that starts from 8/8/09 why does the end date say 8/17/09 (its 28 days why is it deducting 11?)

I have my working time from 8 A.M till 8 A.M

If you are using 24h calendar, that is 24 working hours per day. When you enter 28d as duration of some task it means 28x8 hours, no matter what calendar you are using. If the task you are entering lasts for 28x24 hours than you have to enter something like 28wd (w means whole). I am not sure if the letter 'w' will be correct for your version of MS Project. I am using Czech version of Project and there is letter 'u'. 'w' could be in english version probably...
