Can i create a plan without using dates?
Good day everyone! I have a problem which i doubt too many people will not have experienced. I would like to create a plan, which is based on non-specific days, just days like, doing a 120 day plan, with no actual dates.
Sometimes i bid on a project , but using specific dates, then when you win the project, i need to do it again, with specific dates. In Project 2013, can i create a project plan only using numbered days with no actual dates?? Thank you. |

as far as I am aware, no. you could hide the start/finish date columns, but that wouldn't, I suspect, answer the question.
If a programme is correctly written, ten if the start date changes all tasks will move to suit the new date. The only exception is where there are constrained dates, and if there are more than a handful then it would suggest that the programme is likely to be an inaccurate representation anyway (this does not mean they should not be there, just that a larger number can disrupt a programme). You should be able to change the start date, and tasks will move to suit the new date. It also offers the advantage that any holiday periods in the calendar will be incorporated and present a true programme straightaway. |

Hi
As already suggested you can hide the start and finish columns from your view. In addition you can change the Timescale view on gantt portion of your view to show only week Numbers or Month Numbers as opposed to actual dates. Activities must have start and finish dates with Predecessors dependencies to actually be able to schedule all activities in the correct order. Simply right-click in the date portion of the Gantt Chart view and select the options you want to see for each Level (Top, Middle, Bottom). Hope this helps. |

Is there really a problem to do a "theoretical" project with current dates?
If the purpose only is to get the scope of the project and not do any actual planning/leveling, just do the project as usual, then when (if) it becomes a reality, just update the project dates by moving it from the projects tab <Project Information> or <Update project> and move tasks that are behind in dates |
