Default Inserted Projects Finish Date Changing For No Reason...

Hello everyone, I am new and this is the 1st time I have posted on the forum so bare with me. I have 3-4yrs of experience with MS Project and use it every day. I recently have an issue I have never had before. I run a master Gantt Chart with other projects inserted in. I opened my master chart last week and everything looked just like I saved it a day or to before. I opened a project and noticed that when I did the duration changed from 23days to 1 day and the finish date was the same as the start date. After looking into it and changing some of the subtasks I found that it is only summarizing the 1st tasks and not the entire project. So trying to out smart it I indented the tasks to be under the 1st task and the dates for the whole project changes again but farther back and both the start and finish dates change to before the original start dates. Every project I expand does this and wont change back. Any ideas? I'm hoping its something dumb or simple that I'm over looking.
