Default Project Late Status Changes from One User to Another

MS Project 2010 Pro Standalone. I have a project file that has three late tasks. Of the three tasks, one is 60% complete, a duration of 77 days, start date 3/21/16 and end date of 7/7/16. Status date is 5/24/16; calendar is US and Federal Holidays. When I send this project file to a colleague this task is shown as on schedule. We have verified the status date and calendar in my colleague's MS Project. Any ideas on why/how the late calculation is different?

To the best of my knowledge, Project does not perform a calculation when the file is opened. If he/she pressed F9 to force a calculation, do you see the status update?

Default Project file corrupted

As I am rebuilding the schedule in my original post, I find several sub projects are corrupted.

Thanks for your input.

Ah, thanks for the update. Corrupted subprojects will most certainly cause tons of issues.
