Resource Overallation not flagged correctly
Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem I am having with resource overallocation in MS Project 2013. I have set up a resource pool, a master project file and a series of sub-projects which are linked to the resource pool and then inserted into the master file. On occasion, some task overallocations are not being flagged up with the red man, despite there being a clear overlap between tasks. On a few occasions I have managed to resolve this my deleting the problem task(s) then replacing it in the relevant plan(s), however this does not always resolve the issue. Why would MS Project not flag this up? Thanks in advance. Kind regards Barry |

What are your leveling settings? Day by Day? Week by week? Even though the task are overlapping are the assignments? Look at the Resource Usage view and add Start and Finish fields to the table (left side). If the tasks are fixed duration with resources with differing amounts of work - the assignments may not overlap - therefore - no overallocation.
