Default Resource Pool not responding when saving changes, sharer plans responding but very slow

Trying to look at resource utilisation across a number of modest projects linked to a central resource pool. Sharer plans are located on our central drive and on individuals desktops. Experiencing on going problems saving changes. Project stops responding every time I try to make changes. Any ideas what this might be?

I'd make sure you are storing all files (pool and sharer) on a network drive. Do not try keeping files spread out.
