Default in project 2013 standard how to achieve multi-user editting?

Hello, I am new to Microsoft project. My boss and I installed the project 2013 standard on our computer and we want to share the tasks. Is there any way that we can co-edit the same project file?

I read many materials online, some said that only one person has the write right, others can only read, some said that sharepoint/ project server can help achieve this goal, however I'm not sure whether project standard can be connected to a project server.

I'd really appreciate any help!! Thanks very much!

I'm sorry, no. Even if the file is stored in SharePoint, Project does not allow co-authoring. Not even with Project Server can multiple people edit the same project file at the same time.

Hi Julie, thanks very much for your answer. If the file is stored in project server, can we allow permission to edit the file to multiple user, so they can edit the file but not at the same time?

Thanks a lot!

You don't need Project Server to allow people to edit a project file. They will need Project installed - but anyone with access to the file can edit it.

Project server is a true Enterprise Project Management system. If you are a small company, you might want to think about Project Online before going down the road of Project Server. You will also need to purchase Project Professional licenses to work with either Project Server or Project Online.

I hope this helps.
