Default Report chart filter not working

Hi there,

I am using the report chart feature with category=time and Select Fields=Work. When I attempt to filter by resource no data appears in the chart. I have tried this for many different resources that contain work but the report appears to not work. It does show data with no filter in place. Is this a software bug or is there a way to do this? I have the same issue filtering by custom field.

Thanks,
Asita

Click the Show Hierarchy check box underneath the Outline Level list. Not sure exactly why it works but it does.

When I click the Show Hierarchy check box, it returns the data not filtered unfortunately. There is not difference with this result to not filtered. Is there anything else I could try?
Thanks!

Sorry for the long delay in replying. You are correct - I see the same thing. However, if I create a new resource filter and use Resources instead of tasks it does work. I still need to select the "show hierarchy" - but it does work.

Thanks for your response Julie! I tried this and with some fiddling I did get it to work. It works for me without and with "show hierarchy" checked. The important point here was to use the resources tab in the report as opposed to tasks. That may help in some of my other reports as well...

Great. Glad you were able to get what you need with a Resource versus a task report.
