Try copying the Gantt chart view, not creating a new view.

Copying a view seems to work fine...

Test file
Here's a test project file. If you create and apply a new view in this file, does the footer center for you?

When I create a new view by copying the Gantt chart view (which is how I always create views) it works just fine.

I agree, it works for me too. What about if you follow the process I posted above using the New... button rather than copying?

When I create a new view through the More Views dialog - I see the error. Again, I never create views that way (too many steps for me) so I have not seen this error before.

Ok, so the issue doesn't appear to be localized to my installment of the software...I can stop obsessing over this now. I hadn't considered just copying a new view... definitely faster... I'll take that approach going forward. Thanks for your help.

The issue appears to be isolated to the long method of creating views. I would stick with the shorter method (and the one that works.)
