Default Filtered Visual Reports

Hi All

I have a Master MPP containing approx 40 sub plans. I want to be able to run a report on a set of filtered data (for example the next three months) showing resource usage. However, even after I filter the data, when I run the Visual Report it is picking up 5 years worth of data which means I cant report down to the level of "weeks" because of the limitation in the number of columns allowable on a worksheet.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so have you found a workaround that you are able to share please.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Tony

Hi Tony,

I don't have any direct experience with files that large. What version of Excel are you using? 2010 has 16,000+.

Are all 40 projects running for the next 3 months? Can you create a consolidated project with just the active ones?

If a remember, you are quite the programmer. See if

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...ffice.12).aspx

helps get you started.

Hi Julie

Just as you respond I found the issue. I am using data from a third party which is in the form of a Consolidated Plan containing 40+ projects. However!!!!!!!! He has consolidated plans within consolidated plans within consolidated plans within consolidated plans........ If you get my meaning :-). Once I split the plans out and just consolidated the "individual" 40+ plans it works perfectly.
Hope this helps others working with Visual Reports and want to report down to weekly Resource Usage level which is what I am doing.
Many thanks for your response.
Kind regards
Tony
p.s. I am only a "trainee" programmer" :-) but I get by with help from John on the MSDN Forum.

Superb! I'm glad you were able to sort it out. John (Jensen) from the MSDN forum is brilliant.
