Project can calculate Earned Value data as long as:

Costed resources (work resources with costs) assigned to tasks.
An accurate baseline saved
Status date set accurately
Tracking data applied to the project.

Project calculates earned value based upon percent complete.

Earned value data (BWCP, BCWS, ACWP, CPI, SPI etc) is available in tables (Earned Value, Earned Value Cost Indicators, Earned Value Schedule Indicators), in earned value visual reports.

I hope this helps.
