Work between Two Dates
Hi
First of all, I'm using the German MS Project 2013 version. So I don't know if the words I use about things in MS Project are exactly like I translate them. My problem, I would like to specify an activity with a start and end date and needed work hours. Duration is not important for me, because the ressource/people can do this activity in this start/end frame when they want. And because it's a private project, work times (8h per day) are also not important, perhaps people do activities in the evening, perhaps during night. For example I have activity "Project Structure Plan", which will take 10h to complete and can be done between 1.10.14 and 10.10.14. How can I configure MS Project for this? I tried with automatic/manual activities, activity type "fix duration", "fix work", but nothing works like I want. Everytime MS Project is changing duration, start/end date or work time. Or changes work time if I add another ressource. Thank you for your help. |

Set the task as fixed duration, non-effort driven, autoscheduled. You can then assign the resources (Task Form) and enter the amount of work. Project will calculate the units required to spread the work out over the duration.
I hope this helps. |
