Saturday off alternately
In our organization, we get alternate Saturday off viz-a-viz 1st and third Saturday off. So I want to know, is there any option in MS-project to do this change at the time of calender generation, rather than manually.

I'm not sure I fully follow your question.
The default calendar in Project (Standard calendar) has all Saturdays as non-working. You can create a new calendar with every other Saturday as working and then copy that calendar to the Global template, making it available in all new projects. So, is your question

Q1. How to create a calendar with every other Saturday as working time?
A1. I can easily modify the standard / new generated calender, but we can only mark all Saturdays off. I want to mark 1st and 3rd Saturday off for 4 years calender, because if we modify the calendar manually, it takes alot of time. Q2. How to copy that calendar to Global? A2. Already known. Q3. About version? A3. Currently I am using MS project 2007, while I already searched the same in 2013 but same problem occurs. Waiting for your reply. Regards, Arif |

The easiest approach is to create the new calendar and modify the Work Week to include all Saturdays as working time. Then create a recurring exception for every other Saturday as non-working. Project 2007 introduced the recurring exception and this negates the need for manually marking each non-working Saturday. This method works in all Project releases beginning with 2007.

I just want to mark 1st and 3rd Saturday off only. It means, this change can be possible by manual process only.

I think we are talking past one another. What exactly do you mean by "manual process only." I have explained (briefly) how to create a calendar and use the recurring exceptions to mark every other Saturday off which will not require you to manually change every Saturday. For step by step:

Great. Were you able to make the calendar to get what you need?

By using recurrence option, we can mark every 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th week as off day, but my query was to mark 1st and 3rd week off simultaneously.
After using recurrence option, 1st or 3rd Saturday will have to mark as off day forcefully. |

Please re-read the step by step directions again. You select Weekly every 2 weeks on Saturday starting with the first Saturday of the month you will see every other Saturday is off.

By using this option, every 2nd Saturday is marked as off day, while I just want 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month as off day.

Okay, so in months with 5 weeks you would still only get the first and third Saturday off? In that case, create two recurring exceptions - one for the first Saturday of every month and one for the third Saturday of every month.
