Default showing fabrication items in schedule

in my construction schedule i am showing only installation items but for two important long lead time equipment, i like to show fabrication durations too and link submittals and installation to those as they are important and long time.

but my schedule is only a construction installation schedule for the field

is there a way to show and link those items but still exclude them from the % calculations? for example because they are long lead time, if they are not yet started, it affects the % complete of my project negatively although in the field there is a lot of progress

by the way everything is calculated per durations in my schedule, as the default option. (physical % complete show 0 for everything even completed ones for example. i did not assign any resources. i go by durations)
