Default copy paste task names and relations only

I have a good schedule which I want to copy and start a new schedule. but i dont want to just copy paste the file and modify it because i had entered cost values to many places and i dont remember all.

all i need from the previous schedule are task names, durations predecessors and successors

i even do not need durations actually

but when i try to copy paste only these fields in a blank schedule it gives error

it says " a pasting error has occurred in ID .. in the successors column. If task is dependent on another task, enter the ID number of the task it depends on and any pertient task relationship information"

all i want is to paste the columns I talked about in a new schedule. i even aligned the columns same way in the blank project. it is not doing it

Save the file as a template. They will ask what values you wish to remove, including costs.

yes thanks and I eliminated everything previously that it asked. but it still shows the "start no earlier than" constraints in the information column. there is a lot of activities with such constaints, which had mostly happened when i was bringing the activities to current date in the previous job. how can i eliminate them alltogether, is there a shortcut or i must eliminate them one by one?

Also on the fixed cost column, although the previous values are deleted now, i still see the coloring of some cells that i had done previously. there is again quite a lot of them. is there a shortcut way to make them all automatic color backghround which is white ? or i have to do one by one?

You can remove all constraints by selecting all tasks and clicking the Information button on the Task ribbon. Set the constraints to ASAP.

If you manually colored the table, you can reset the table back to Global.mpt default (default fonts, background colors, columns etc) through Task ribbon, click the Table drop-down and select Reset to Default. Actually I have to amend that - resetting does not removed manually applied background colors. Select the column or columns and set the background to none. It will remove all manually formatted background colors.

ok i did these but i also noticed that for example in the notes column, i saw a note for a task for the previous project and it wasnt cleaned. what else can i expect that wasnt cleaned? when i saved as template in the beginning i marked everything it showed to be cleaned but still saw this . so what else chould i look at? i dont want to carry anything fromn previous project except the task names and logical relatoins between activities

You should be able to see the task note indicator in the Indicator field. Project will only "clean" those items in the list. If you have assigned resources, entered constraints, added notes - you'll need to remove those manually.
