ms project 2010 calculating logic

lets say, i assigned the logic of


1FS+2days to task number 3 as a predecessor.
so it needs to start after 2 days of finish of task 1 corrrect?
but i just started using ms project 2010 and it doesnt do that. it starts somewhere else, even before finish of task 1 for some reason. and there is no other predecessor to it. why can this happen?

ok it was due to settings of manual vs auto calculation. i saw that it does it for new tasks whic is the case from now. but for existing tasks i need to change from manual to auto one by one right?

No. You can select multiple tasks and you the task mode setting on the Task Ribbon to change to auto scheduled.
