Default Scheduling Tasks to run for the duration of another task

Using: Project 2007

Ok so here's the situation.

I have several work packages in my project that are considered "sensitive". Whilst these are running, they will need a person assigned to them for 1 day/week to handle communications and stakeholder engagement.

The work packages are all summary tasks, and their start/finish dates may change for any of the variety of reasons why our plans don't usually match to how things actually go. Regardless of when they actually start and finish, I need the comms/stakeholder activity to automatically schedule to be running at the same time.

I've tried this both as a recurring task and a separate, single task with a person allocated as resourced for 20% of their time. Both had problems.

Regular Task

I've put start-to-start and finish-to-finish constraints on this. However, whenever I do this it just schedules the activity to start the number of days I've allocated to it before the end of the Work Package. As the length of the work package may change, this requires me to manually adjust days everytime the work package changes.

Recurring Task

With a recurring task, I seem to only be able to create start-to-start and finish-to-start constraints. This means I can get it to begin with the Work Package, but will have to manually adjust the end date whenever the work package changes.

I have quite a few of these so I'm keen to avoid having to manually spin plates to keep them in line.

Is there any way to do this?
