Default Resource Usage view does not correctly export to a Visual Report

Hi all, hope somebody can help with this as i just cant figure out why this isn't working!

I'm using the resource usage view in project to allocate effort to individuals assigned to tasks. I have the view set to show week commencing dates and enter data from 0.5 to 5 days per week for each task.

I've created a custom Visual Report template based on the assignment usage data type. I create the usage data at the week level and select 'work' as the parameter to be exported.

when viewing the pivot table in Excel i can display by week number however the figures don't match what was entered in the Resource Usage view in Project. For Example i have a task with the following effort allocation:

Project:

Week Commencing 14/04 - 3 days
Week Commencing 21/04 - 2.5 days
Week Commencing 28/04 - 2 days

Visual Report:
Week Commencing 14/04 (Week 16) - 2 days
Week Commencing 21/04 (Week 17) - 0 days
Week Commencing 28/04 (Week 18) - 0 days

I don't understand what's going on, any help would be greatly appreciated!

What release of Project? What service pack do you have applied? Project 2007 is up to SP-3, Project 2010 is up to SP-2, and Project 2013 is up to SP-1.

When you say you enter "data from .5 to 5 days per week for each task" - I assume you are entering work in the assignment row in the Resource Usage view? If you zoom in do you see the hours per day spread as expected? If I enter work per week - unless I am using Fixed Duration tasks, the task duration shortens when I enter 4 hours (.5 days) of work on a task in a week.

In testing with Project 2010 and manually entering the work on the assignment line - the weekly values match the default Baseline Work Visual Report.

It's Project 2007, SP1. I'll try and get IT to patch SP3 and see if that helps!

That's correct, i am entering work in the assignment row in the resource usage view. When i zoom in then i see the hrs spread as expected.

That's interesting, if SP3 doesn't help then i'll try to get an upgrade to Project 2010.

Thanks again for your help Julie, much appreciated. Will keep the group posted on progress.
