Newbie q - Create a filter for report in ms project 2013 task due in 2 weeks
Hi,
I have had a search but couldn't find the answer. I am trying to create a filter for a report in ms project 2013 that shows task that are not complete but are due up to and including 2 weeks. I want it to be a dynamic filter rather than using the date between filter. I have managed to create date1(today) and date2(+7d) and date3(+14d) which are all calculating correctly and working. But when i try to create a new filter i get a error message. I have tried Field name = %complete Test= is less than Value = 100 AND Field name = Finish Test= is less than or equal too Value = Date2 (+7d) Error is The entry is not valid. The test value cannot be used with the field for the data you want to find or filter for. Help... its driving me mad, and i can't figure out what i am missing! |

Use Scheduled Finish instead of Finish. The Finish field will accept text entries for manually scheduled task.

Isee you managed to resolve this issue however, I'm still trying to create a filter for the next week's tasks and struggling to do this. Can you please share what you did and the final filter details you used to resolve this? Please advise Regards Garth |

Let's start with some more information from you:
What release of MS Project are you using? What have you tried and specifically what has not worked? Have you looked at the built-in filter - such as Date Range or Tasks Starting soon? |

Using MS Project 2013.
Seems like the Date Range does work. What I was trying to do is create a new filter, so that it takes today's date and then filters the tasks due in the next 5-days. SO it's a simple quick click. If not possible, i will use the Date Range. Regards Garth |

You'll need to calculate the extra date field to show today + 5 days.
Add a custom Date field (Date1) Customize the field with the following formula: DateAdd("d", 5, [Current Date]) That will calculate a date 5 calendar days from the current date. You can then create your filter: Field: Scheduled finish Test: is less than Values: [Date1] As in the original, you may also want to test if the task is already complete. |
