Default project for projected vs physical

Hi everyone! I'm new to the form and have searched for an answer to my question to no avail, so decided to post a questions for what I'm struggling with. I use MSP 2007, I have a simple schedule but I need to track/calculate planned vs actual and I don't want % complete to go back and change my "planned" units automatically. I included a sample I use in Excel now. Basically all tasks actual were either over or under planned, but all work is 100% complete. Is there anyway to pull this off using projects?

Thanks in advance!

See attached PDF. Thanks

Yes. You should model the work in Project, entering tasks, durations, relationships, resources (as you are tracking work and cost). Then before you start supplying actual data - save a baseline. The original baseline data:baseline start, baseline finish, baseline work, baseline cost, baseline duration) will then not be changed by entering actuals. Project will calculate variance - work, cost, start, finish, and duration for you.
