Tables being Altered
Hi Fellow Forum Members Has anyone else had issues with the content of tables being changed with intending to change them. Basically I create a new table and apply it to the view. I then insert other columns temporarily and it changes the original Table set-up which I don't want. Has anyone else had this issue and if so have they found a solution to stop it happening. Tony |

Hi Tony,
You are not doing anything wrong - that is how Project functions. You can re-set a built in table, but I don't believe the same exists for custom tables. I disable the option to "automatically add new views, tables, and filters to the global". That way once I copy the view to global it is consistent within new files. |

Hi Julie
That's what I thought, however, it seems that the option to edit a particular Table or View seems irrelevant when you can do it from the actual view without specifically going into the view set-up and changing. Thanks for the feedback. Tony |

There really isn't a reason to edit the table except through inserting and deleting columns in my mind. You are right - it can be very confusing a frustrating when others "mess up" the file.
