Default 2007 file opened with 2010 messed up

I have a huge Project 2007 file (12 Mb) with tasks, subtasks and different columns just for planning of studies. Recently, with migration to Project 2010, the file was opened in 2010 and seems its a total mess. Tasks and subtasks are messed around or totally disappeared. Do I need to make a brand new one in 2010 from scratch and import data from 2007 file ?

Do you have any filters applied? Is the project sorted? Opening a 2007 file in 2010 should not 'mess around' tasks.
