Default Auto Adjust After Early Finish

Hi, I have the following scenario:

I have a task with duration = 5 days (work = 40 hrs). When the task finish on day 3, I want the task following after it to start automatically and then also automatically adjust the rest of the schedule. I can do it manually by editing the duration/work to reflect 3 days/24 hrs, but I do not want to do this. Is there an easy way that this can be achieved?

Thanks in advance...

There is no automatic way for Project to know that the task only took 3 days instead of 5 without you telling it. Display the Tracking table, set the Actual Finish to the finish date, the task will be marked 100% complete, the actual duration will show 3 days. Assuming the successor task is linked and does not have an actual start date, it will adjust accordingly.
