Auto Adjust After Early Finish
Hi, I have the following scenario: I have a task with duration = 5 days (work = 40 hrs). When the task finish on day 3, I want the task following after it to start automatically and then also automatically adjust the rest of the schedule. I can do it manually by editing the duration/work to reflect 3 days/24 hrs, but I do not want to do this. Is there an easy way that this can be achieved? Thanks in advance... |

There is no automatic way for Project to know that the task only took 3 days instead of 5 without you telling it. Display the Tracking table, set the Actual Finish to the finish date, the task will be marked 100% complete, the actual duration will show 3 days. Assuming the successor task is linked and does not have an actual start date, it will adjust accordingly.
