Hi all,
I am creating a plan for a client where I have some tasks they need to do. A task may only actually take them 0.5 day, but I don't mind when they do it as long as its done by a certain date. So I want to show on the plan for their guidance, for example start date- 01/10/13 (can start the task on or after this date) end date = 14/10/13 (task must be completed by this date) man days = 0.5 day (i.e. how long the task will actually take) Is this possible in MS Project Professional 2010 thanks |

Another option is to add the task set it's duration to 1 day (fixed) with the resources assigned at 50%. Set a deadline on the task to ensure you get notified if it passes the deadline date. Keep an eye on the task during your status updates as human nature being what it is, they will delay working on the task until the deadline.
