Default Delay Analysis

Hello,

Can you show a good resource where I can learn how delay analysis is done with MS Project please? I have been searching internet but didnt find any good source.

For what delay analysis methods MS Project suits the best?

I don't know what you mean by "delay analysis." Project will show you tasks that have been delayed - how much they are delayed - and of course the impact of delays on your schedule.

"Delay analysis" would certainly involve these components, but as a project manager, you need to be able to explain why the delay occurred - nothing beats good documentation.

Finish variance, Start Variance, Work Variance, Duration Variance, and Cost Variance are all calculated by Project as long as you have saved a baseline.

The Finish and Start Variances are default fields on the Variance Table.
Work Variance is on the Work table.
Cost Variance is on the Cost table.
And Duration variance can be added to any table needed.

The Tracking Gantt provides a visual of the baseline bars to the current schedule.
