MS Project - Maximizing resource levelling
Dear all,
I have a question related with the way MS Project make the resource levelling. Here is a simple example to explain my question: "3 workers are available to perform any of the two tasks related to the project. However, tasks cannot be done by more than 2 workers at the same time..." (see image attached) ...Why both activities don't start at the same time, with 2 workers on one task and 1 worker in the other until the first task is finished? |

Hello aguatorito,
I'm afraid that is not how the resource leveling command works.
If you have 3 resources available, why not assign all 3? |

Hi Julie,
Thanks for your reply. I was afraid that MS Project doesn't allow this kind of levelling, but I still had some hope on it. As I mentioned, this is just a small example of what I really have: over 20 activities that can be done by 2 to 6 workers (no less, no more), and a total of approx. 30 workers available that can perform any task. Thanks anyway, Aguatorito |

The best I can suggest is always assign the maximum number of workers who can perform the tasks. You can create the work resources as max units of 3000% to indicate you have 30 workers. However, project will still not assign additional workers to tasks.
