Default Formatting rolled up bars

Hi all

I have a project register in excel which I am writing some VBA for to extract and build a project ready input file.

On the attached sheet I have a manual repsresentation of the summary bars I would like to create but I need to know if it is possible to automate the colouring of the bars on the rolled up summary as at the moment to get the representation I had to do it manually as you lose the formatting when you roll up.

Tried using flags etc, but i need to condition each colour on the same line for rolled up tasks and I dont think I can specify both the rolled up task in bar styles as well as the checking of the flag.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Sean

Hi Sean,

You can create new bars styles and use the Flag fields to signify what colors you need. There are 20 flag fields you can use.
  1. Add the flag fields as needed to a table view - use one flag for each formatting color you wish to show.
  2. Add the Rollup field to the table to make your life easier.
  3. Display the Bar Styles dialog.
  4. Delete the existing *Rolled up bar style
  5. Cut the "Task" bar style and paste as many times as needed. (Paste underneath the "Task" bar style.
  6. Rename the first bar style (Flag1), change the shape and color as desired.
  7. In the "Show for" enter Rolled up, Flag1.
  8. Repeat for Flag 2, Flag3 etc.
