Create a resource sheet in MS Project
Hi,
I am trying to create the below sheet in MS Project - Dept Labour days 4/16/2012 4/23/2012 4/30/2012 5/7/2012 Modeling 30 2 2 1 Texture 30 1 1 1 2 Rig 25 1 1 1 1 Where the numbers 2 & 1 are the number of resources required for that particular week. Please let me know if I can do this in Project 2010. Regards, Chabuk |

You can get close with the Task Usage view, zoomed out to a weekly basis. After assigning the resources to tasks as needed -- format the timescaled (right side) of the Task Usage view to show "Peak Units". This will show maximum assignment units for the week in percentage. If you wish to show the data as decimals, change the setting in Options from 'percentage' to decimal.
I hope this helps. Julie |

Thanks for the response but thats not what I was looking for. I can maybe send you an excel of which I would like to make it in Project. Do you have an option where I can send you the file?

I'm afraid you won't get exactly what you have in Excel from Project -- two different pieces of software -- two different purposes.
Can you tell me what was in error with the example I gave you? It may not be possible in Project to accomplish the exact format you have in Excel. Have you looked at the Visual Reports? |

Am I right in saying that modelling only takes 3 weeks out of the 4 and that Modelling, Texture and Rig are tasks?

My interpretation was Modeling, Texture, and Rigs were resources.

My understanding was that modelling etc were tasks and that the numbers 1 & 2 were the number of resources required in a given week, ie, looking at the below, to complete the modelling task you need 2 the first week, 2 the second week and 1 the third week.
Modeling 30 2 2 1 This being the case, give the resources names, hours and rates etc within the resource area and allocate them to the tasks accordingly. I might be wrong but that is how I have read it. |
