Just a beginner...be nice please!
Hello everyone! I am new to this forum as you can tell from this topics title. I am currently a student and working full time, so I am usually pressed for time. Anyways, I am starting a new class and need to learn the in's and out's of Microsoft Project relatively quickly. I am familiar with most of the other Office programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, so I thought that Project would be no problem to understand. My troubles are not that I do not understand what the program is used for and I completely understand my reasonings for using it and my ultimate goal, however I do not know much at all on how to use the features of the program. After some extensive searching and reading of the 'help' sections of the program (which in my opinion, Microsoft's developers could have spent A LOT more time on), I am still coming up blank. Can anyone suggest to me a good site or resource that will explain things to me from a beginner's point of view? I feel pretty much like an idiot on this since I really should know this stuff, but hey, everyone has to start somewhere right? |

MS Project Tutorial
Hi Tommy,
I came across this link. It appears to be a free tutorial offered by Hewlett Packard. Introduction to project management If you are a beginner ( and we all were at some point ) I would also recommend trying to get a copy of MS Project for Dummies. These books are usually well written and not too technical and they often come with exercises on a CD to explain benefits of the software. Hope this helps. |
