Default calculation of start date

Hello,

ALthough I assigned two more predecessors to an activity, which is supposed to delay it further as they finish later, the activitys start date did not change. Why might that be?

After that, since it didnt work, I also tried to force a start date however now it is not changing it to the date i am entering. i tried every way of entering. and while it doesnt change it to the date i like, it doesnt give an error either. it just doesnt change the date... which made my schedule 1 year longer !!!

do you think i have issues with my software here and what can be done?

There are a number of things that affect the start date of a task. Check for the following:

Actual Start date
Constraint other than As Soon As Possible
Resources assigned with non-working time in the calendar
Lead or lag added to the link relationship
