allocate 0% to resource results in 99% complete ?
As a projectmanager I would like to follow-up all my projects closely.
When defining a recurring task with multiple subtasks dedicated to different people (no deadlines, all 100 or 50/50 % assigned), I mainly put my name in the header as 0% assigned in order to easy look-up on project with my name on it. When date of work is expired, duration equals actual duration and all the amount of work is 100% completed, the amount of work is still set to 99% rather than 100%. This results in an incomplete task although it was completed. When I delete my name (with 0% allocation) in the main header, 99% changes to 100%, and the task is set to complete. Why is this ? Any thoughts ? |

Generally assigning resources to summary tasks is not recommended. Consider using the "Contact" field or a custom field to store your name.
If a summary task has a milestone (zero duration, zero work) which has not been marked 100% complete -- the summary task will stay at 99% complete. There may be a hiccup occurring that there is still not 100% complete of work on your assignment even though there is no work. Try using another field for lookup for you -- and do not assign yourself (or anyone) to summary tasks. |

if there is zero work and zero duration for a summary task, how is it possible it would not be be marked as 100% complete but 99% ? is this a bug in project ?

Summary tasks don't have zero duration. Milestones do and having a milestone not marked as 100% complete may cause the 99% complete at the summary task level. It is not a bug -- it would be incorrect of Project to assume a milestone is 100% complete without you marking it so.
