Hellp needed on office Project
Hello I am facing difficulties figuring out how to use project office. There is supposed to be a class teaching us how to use it in 5 weeks. I can't wait 5 weeks because I got 3 assignments and a dissertation to hand in.
Sorry for sob story. I have attatched 3 files the image of by node path, the question just in case and the file for office project I have done. I am facing problems in getting the days correctly. I think it should be 455 days. Their are 65 weeks in the critical path. I want to mention the duration but while doing that I want the dates to include the weekends. However noone works on the weekends. I set that up put either I can't count or intel needs to work on thier algorithms. The 1st task 40 days including weekends that is 56 days. So starting from 01/01/2012 when the weekday starts on a sunday. 01/01/12 to 23/02/12 its adding up to 54 instead of 56. Why? very frustrating |

Your calendar does not include weekends as working time -- other than setting Sunday, January 1 as a working day. Duration in project is Monday through Friday by default (working days) and I'm a bit confused by your statement:
"I want the dates to include the weekends. However noone works on the weekends." There are 40 working days between Jan 1 and Feb 23. I have no idea what you mean by "adding up to 54 instead of 56." The tasks "Product Rationale" and "Product Specification" are running at the same time therefore the longest duration showing at the summary line is 40 days. If you want to count all calendar days, alter your project calendar (Project > Change Working Time) to include Saturday and Sunday as working days. |
