Default Constraints in MS Project

Hi can I use two constraints in MS project

I have a task that should finish no later than some date and should start no earlier than some date ... and any time between that period ... I will have to level afterwards and I want MS project to fit this task in this interval....

Hi Antares,
No, sorry. A single task can only have one constraint, either FNLT or SNET. You can work around with milestones linked with constraints.

Also, leveling will not "fit this task in this interval" it will only delay tasks based upon resource overallocation, the priority of the task, and the ability to split a task.

I hope this helps.
Julie

I have another question:
If I have two tasks - first is with "Start as late as possible" and the second is "as soon as possible" and they are linked with FS relation.
The project completion date is somewhere far away.
So in this case which constarint dominates?
"as late as possible" tends to push first task to the end (and consequently the linked second task is also pushed, but why "as soon as possible" of second task cant resist this push)...
Well my questions - which can be stronger ?

The task with the As Late As Possible without any predecessors or successors should align itself with the finish of the last task in the project.
When you create a successor task even with an ASAP constraint, the successor has to pay attention first to the link relationship, and then to the constraint.
I hope this helps.

Both of your tasks with the BBB resource assigned have an As Late As Possible constraint. Project cannot level tasks in a project scheduled from a start date (which yours is) that have ALAP constraints.

If you truly need BBB to perform both tasks, then you'll need to drop the assignment units so the sum is less than or equal to the resource's maximum units.

See the Notes section in the follow Microsoft article:
