Default ppsx with naration and mpg goes black

Hello,
I have a Presentation with narations recorded on all but one slide. The narations are not linked. In the middle of the ptresentation I have a content lide with an mpg video inserted. When I run the presentation on the W7 64 bit machine on which I created it, everything runs from beginning to end as intended including the mpg video, which is about 5 minutes long. The presentation is 56 minutes total. When I save the pptx as ppsx it still runs as it should. However, whein I copy the ppsx with the mpg video file into a folder and then copy the folder to my XP laptop and run the show, it runs properly up to the mpg video and then it flashes the start of the video and the screen goes black, althogh the timing still runs for the 5 minutes with black screen and then continues with the rest of the slides.
Can comeone tell me how to fix the slide with the mpg video so the ppsx will run on different windows platform machines?
Thank you,
Dan
