Default Edit Data Source- Linking template charts to new data

Can someone tell me how to do this?

I have a Powerpoint presentation set up with graphs designed (colors, etc) exactly how I want it- the presentation is displaying information collected from surveys data in excel.

I'm doing surveys for different clients, and wanted to see if there is a way to link the new data source (for client 2) into the original PP template created (for client 1). Only method I've found: choose "edit data" and use the data linked (from client 1) to revise for client 2.

So, is there a way to link a different excel sheet to an existing or "copied" powerpoint, and would charts automatically change?

Am I making sense to anyone out there? Would appreciate any help.
