Default Numbered list turns to bullets when copy/pasted

I have customized a numbered list so that when indenting it looks like this:
1.
a.
i.
1)
a)
I put the customized numbering in a Master View slide so that I don't have to recreate the customized numbering all the time. I can just use that layout to create numbered content.

So I select New Slide to get the customized numbering layout. I type in my content and now need to copy/paste that numbered content into the destination slide.

Unfortunately, even if I do Paste Special, Keep Source Formatting, the numbered list reverts to bullets (which is the default for all the deck's other layouts).

How can I copy/paste a customized numbered list into a slide and not have it revert to bullets, but instead keep all customized numbered formatting?

Thank you, Cathleen

Default Make Destination Styles Identical

Hi,

Not sure, but as you are using MS default styles this may be the problem, as I have also experienced a similar over-write style issue.

Cannot remember, but I think I created my own style and this went across without problems. Not an ideal solution, but something you might like to try?

Hope this helps.

I did make my own style. I created a customized Master Theme, which is where you create your own style.

Numbering still reverts to bullets when I take the custom stylized number content and paste it into a slide.

Still don't know what to do...

Hmmm, it's working now. Not sure what I was doing wrong.

I copy/paste special, keep source formatting and it works on my PC.

Unfortunately, it does NOT work on my Mac. Mac does not seem to have the equivalent of Keep Source Formatting.

Thanks for your help

Hi Kathleen,

Pleased that you managed to get this to work… Eventually! :-)

Please do not forget to mark this as 'solved'– thanks.

how do I mark it as solved

Should I mark it as solved if it was not solved for the Mac?
