Default Hyperlink default - how to make links active again

I created a presentation deck and made it a default that any link created looks like a link, but it is not active. In other words, if you type www.mysite.com, it would be underlined and a different color, but it's inactive by default so clicking on it won't take you anywhere.

I do want that default for all the hyperlinks in my deck. But there is one link I decided I want to make active and now I can't figure out how to undo the default for that one link.

How can I bypass the default I created in which the deck's links are automatically inactive so that I can make a single link active again?

For the life of me, I can't figure out now how I made the hyperlinks inactive in the first place. That would be a good starting place to figuring out how to re-activate a single link.

Thanks,

Cathleen

Default Hyperlink - Custom Style

Hi Cathleen,

Here are the instructions:

Turn on or off automatic hyperlinks

You can turn automatic links on or off. If you’re using automatic links and Word is displaying only part of the link path, you can change the settings to show the full path of hyperlink.
Turn on automatic hyperlinks

  1. Click the File tab.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Click Proofing.
  4. Click AutoCorrect Options, and then click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
  5. Select the Internet and network paths with hyperlinks check

  5. Clear the Internet and network paths with hyperlinks check box.
Remove a hyperlink

Do one of the following:
  • Press CTRL+Z. You must press CTRL+Z immediately after you type the address, or URL, to delete a hyperlink from a typed URL.
Note If you press CTRL+Z a second time, the typed URL is deleted.
  • Right-click the hyperlink, click Edit Hyperlink on the shortcut menu, and then click Remove Link.
If you quickly remove the hyperlink that appears by typing CTRL+Z, then you might like to create a style that is not a hyperlink (i.e. CathHyper Style) then you can format the words anyway that you want, and it will have nothing to do with hyperlinks. Then, if oyu decide that you do not want a blue underline style, and you want mauve & italic, just change the style and they will all change.

Hope this helps.

Default

I see now what is going on. In Normal mode no links are active. They become active in Presentation mode.

Thanks for telling me about the Internet and network paths with hyperlinks option.

I see what is happening now.
