Default background graphic removal

Training materials were produced using Powerpoint in 2001 and the original EU material had logos and various page formats on the master slide.
The materials were then translated into Chinese and the translators placed the logos etc onto a background graphic. One of these logos (PIC) is not suitable for supply to other customers.

I can hide the background graphic but really need to remove it. Is this possible?

In addition it is possible to edit the text in the 2 main text boxes but I cannot find a way to remove the small PIC at the bottom left of the slide.

An example of the chinese version is attached.
