I have Microsoft Powerpoint 2010,
Sometimes when I read or download ppt files of people who have older versions of office, and I make changes to the file and want to save them, it always warns me about checking compatibility etc, I check off the little box so its unchecked and click so that it doesn't ask again and click save, but for different files it asks again, how can I get power point to stop checking all together? what consequences would that have? Thanks |

You have to save the files in the new format of PowerPoint 2007-2010 (PPTX) or (PPSX).

The purpose of the message is to warn you that you have changed something that users in 2003 will not be able to edit.
Personally would never disable this! If you REALLY need to to you need to create a registry key. Are you competant to do this? Don't go there if not! The key is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\P owerPoint\Options\ShowCompatDialog Value set to 0 disables and 1 enables. |
