Default Audio not auto playing...

Hi all,

Using PowerPoint 2010. Someone gave me a projet and all the files. Trying to replace the audio. I deleted the old one, inserted the new. Same file format as the other...mp3. I make it start automatically like the other...same set up. No dice! The icon is different than the other though. The new one is gray with lines coming out of it and won't play when double clicked. The old one is gold and plays when double clicked. Not sure whats going on!

Any help would be great!

Thanks!

Todd

Hello, I have found this thread on answers.microsoft.com.
The grey button is normal for an embed mp3 and it is better a .wav for compatibility issues. A large file could also be an issue.

Hope this help

Thanks,

But here is the problem now. There are various animations that happen first. My audio only plays after these animations even though I have it set uo to auto play. I noted that on the project given, all are set at "0" including the audio. My replacement audio is also set at "0" yet still only plays after.

Also, why is it that the audio icons they have in there are yellow and mine are gray? What's the difference and why are they like that? I can trim the gray one but the yellow one I can't. The yellow one has a line going up with a circle and a line through it. Confusing because I see nothing in the help files about this.

I'm on crunch time with this! Thanks!

YAYAYAYAY! I figured how to get it started at the beginning! I haven't used PP since I was in college some 10 years ago!

Wow, it's been a while.

Default music/animation problems

TSJNO... could you tell me how you got it started again? I'm having similar problems where when I add the music file it stops the animations from working until the music stops playing.

Many thanks.
