Trying to use master slide to format slides in a presentation.

I set up a master slide with background colour, image and text formatting on three levels. According to instructions, when I close the master slide it should replicate slides for that presentation.

The slides have the correct background colour and image but the text levels and formatting are not reproduced in the new slides.

I would be very grateful for help with this problem
