Default Sizing issue

I want to use powerpoint to create a slide show for displaying on my TV. The TV has a USB port that will display a slideshow of JPG files on a flash drive.

Pretty simple, I create a slide show with powerpoint, choose "save as", choose jpg, it saves each slide as a jpg and my TV displays them. All is good except for the size. The images only fill up about 50% of my screen. How can I make the images larger without distorting.

Do I resize the powerpoint slide, if so how?

or do I resize the JPG, this would probably distort my views.
