Powerpoint loops, but not to beginning
I'm working on a show for an informational screen in the lobby of our building. I've set up a custom show to present one of two upcoming events slides, then a photo slide, then another events slide, and so on. The slide order of the show is as follows:
1,3,2,4,1,5,2,6,1,7,2,8,1,9...18 There are 32 slides in the show. On the first run through, it displays every slide in the correct order. When the show loops automatically however, instead of going back to slide 1, it goes back to slide 29 and shows just the end of the show over and over again. It even orders the last slides according to the custom show order! I previously had a section of two hidden slides, but I've since removed them, so every slide in the pptx file is in the show somewhere. I've tested this on 2011 for Mac and 2007 for PC, and it behaves exactly the same in both versions and on both platforms. I'm pulling my hair out. Any suggestions? |

Problem solved. The show was returning to *slide 1* instead of *position 1* within the Custom Show. The most recent occurrence of slide 1 was at position 29 in the custom show, hence the looping at the end of the show. I added a third informational slide at the beginning and just never referenced slide 1 after the first occurrence. The new order is as follows:
1,4,2,5,3,6,2,7,3,8,2,9,3,10...19 Thanks to my friend Chris, whose outside-the-box thinking solved the problem in minutes! |
