Default A number of issues driving me crazy

Hi

I have a number of issues with PowerPoint which i've found frustrating since buying 2010. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1.) I know the answer is probably no, but is there any way to pause embedded audio in Powerpoint 2007. I can embed and pause in 2010 but most of my presentations are made for use by other people who have earlier versions and they either can't play it (2003 and earlier) or can't pause it (2007).
2.) How can i stop that annoying message flashing up about 'References to external pictures have been blocked' Basically i inserted another slideshow into one of my slides and this message flashes up when i click on it. I've removed all hyperlinks from pictures and fiddled with security settings but all to no avail. This is 2010
3.) How can i stop my mouse pointer changing back to pointer when i go on to a new slide. I want it to stay in the highlighter mode but it always changes back. 2010 also.
4.) I've made a continuously looping presentation and i want to add music to it that doesn't restart when the presentation returns to slide 1.

Thanks in advance
