Default Exiting slideshow without presentation

My presentation has a slideshow, and when I upgraded it to the newest version of Powerpoint, it doesn't work how I intended it anymore.

The slideshow starts when you click on a link in the first slide, and it runs (loops) until you click Escape.
In the old version of Powerpoint, you just went back to the first slide, in presentation mode, but in the new Powerpoint version you exit the presentation itself as well.

Maybe I have to configure something somewhere I don't know about. Anybody that can help me?

That doesn't happen here using the latest desktop version 365/2016. It returns to the first slide.

Maybe explain EXACTLY how you set it up and EXACTLY which version you have now.

Thanks for your reaction! I hope I did something wrong and the functionality is still available.

My answers to your questions:

Version:
2013 (15.0.4805.1001)
Part of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013

Set-up:
1) I created the sheets that should operate as slideshow
2) I clicked 'Custom Slide Show -> Custom Shows and created a new one
3) I then selected the sheets that were supposed to be in the newly created slideshow
4) I then created the link in the first slide that links to 'Place in this document' and selected the slideshow there
5) I then configured the slideshow transitions, and unchecked 'On Mouse Click', and checked 'After: 6 (seconds)'
6) I then clicked Set Up Slide Show and set it up like this:

Hope you can help! Much appreciated!

No, I didn't. (Should I? I tried it, but now Escape doesn't get me out of the slideshow anymore.)

Yes, great!! I got it to work!
Don't know why your solution didn't work in the first place, guess I didn't do it right.

But you're absolutely correct, thank you very much!
