PowerPoint 2010 needs a codec to allow embedding of video file
I'm still running Office 2010 on Windows 10 (up-to-date). When I try to embed a video into my presentation, PowerPoint tells me that I need the correct codec to do this.
How do I: 1. find out what the correct codec is? 2. Get the codec when I know which one? The problem is unique to my laptop: the embedded video works on my desktop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to upgrade to Office 365. Cheers Ralph |

Check the codec needed by playing the video with VLC or Windows Media Player.
Download the codec from a trusted source if missing. Ensure the video file format is supported by PowerPoint 2010. |
